Take it into the Abyss (Feb 2014)
Adapted and directed by Dani Mettler

Two newly-wed dreamers, lesbian Mindy (Alison Haracznak Powell) and her hopelessly romantic husband Andy (Cassidy Henderson), tie the knot in the hopes of building the home neither of them ever had. The star-crossed pair’s attempts to build a home and a future out of nothing but four walls are consistently challenged by financial instability, substance abuse, and an absence of physical intimacy.

As they lose their sanity, slipping further into a codependent delirium, Andy and Mindy have  to face the point where love has eroded under constant pressure, and ask if it’s ever too late to give up on someone. Walking the line between a bittersweet romantic and a bottomless tragedy, “Take it into the Abyss” is an intimate look at how fragile marriage is, and how one effort to create a traditional home is perpetually wrecked from the inside out.
