Creep by Stormlight (March 2015)
Written and directed by Dani Mettler

The ensemble created performance, “Creep by Stormlight,” is an exploration of the origins and forces of despair, and the struggle with mental illness. The first Downtime production set in, and inspired by, New Orleans, is an adaptation of Charlotte Perkins Gilmore’s “The Yellow Wallpaper.” “Creep by Stormlight” is the story of one woman’s (played by Hilary Gunnels) isolation in the wake of a hurricane. As she is increasingly cut off from the outside world by her fiance, John (played by Brian Harris), so too is the audience, and one must answer for themselves if the forces haunting her, manifested by a female figure (played by Alison Harazcnak), are creations of her tortured mind, or a true escape from the agonies she endures.
